Privacy Policy

BizNet is an app for keeping a close-knit network of people you have actually met in person. This policy explains what information BizNet collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at appbiznet@gmail.com.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not readable by us).
• Profile information you choose to add: name, photo, job title, company or school, industry, birthday, hometown, school, phone number, email addresses, spouse's name, links to your social profiles and website, favorites, and a short bio. Everything except your name is optional.
• Content you create: posts, photos, comments, likes, and messages, including photos, videos, voice notes, and group chats.
• Connections: who you are connected to, when you connected, a text note about where you met, and any private note you write about a connection (only you can see your own notes).
• Location: BizNet does not track your location. If you choose to tag a post with a place, or to record where you met someone, we store only the place name as text. Using your current location for this requires your permission each time it is used.
• Bluetooth and camera: to find people nearby, the app uses Bluetooth and your local network. The camera is used to scan QR codes and to take photos for posts and messages. The microphone is used only when you record a voice note.
• Device information: a push notification token so we can send you notifications you have allowed.
• Contacts: BizNet never reads your address book. When you tap "Save to Contacts", your phone's own screen opens with the connection's details filled in and you decide whether to save.

How we use your information

• To run BizNet: create your account, show your profile to the people you connect with, deliver posts and messages, and send notifications.
• To keep BizNet safe: review reports, enforce our Terms of Use, and prevent abuse.
• We do not sell your information, show advertising, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Who can see your information

• Basic profile information (such as your name, photo, and headline) can be seen by other signed-in BizNet users so that people can recognize each other when connecting.
• Your posts, comments, likes, and your fuller profile details are visible to your confirmed connections.
• Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. Photos, videos, and voice notes sent in messages are stored privately and are accessible only to the sender and the recipient.
• If you block someone, you and that person stop seeing each other's posts and messages.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to operate BizNet: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Apple (push notifications and app distribution), Google (sending account emails such as password resets), and Cloudflare (this website). They process information only to provide their services to us.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account. This deletes your profile, posts, messages, connections, and uploaded files. Copies may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

Your choices and rights

You can edit or remove most profile information in the app, block people, report content, and turn off notifications, camera, microphone, and location in your phone's settings. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by contacting appbiznet@gmail.com.

Children

BizNet is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access rules that limit who can read your data. No system is perfectly secure.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
